KDII was pleased to host the commissioner and to showcase to Fillipo the great impact KDII has had on the refugees especially through employment. Fillipo Grandi is the 11th United Nations High Commissioner for refugees.
Fillipo Grandi took to his twitter handle to give recognition to KDII for the good work the company has done and continues to do in Kakuma, for the refugees.
“A great project visited in Kakuma, Kenya: thanks to an Ifc_org grant, KDII Ltd employs Kenyans and refugees to produce reusable sanitary pads; this reduces cost, supporting girls’ and women’s menstrual health in a low-income area. Both good and socially responsible business!” Fillipo tweeted.
